This article is a companion piece to Danny Silva's July 20, 2020, article that originally broke the story in a blog form on the older US UFO Program. "1980s US UFO Program was positioned in the Navy" (Meeting on the Hill between Luis Elizondo and UFO Program Point Man from 1980s) Back in July 2020, investigative reporter George Knapp broke the story about the older UFO program that was active during the 1980s. Citizen journalist Danny Silva wrote about it in his blog post. This significant reveal happened during the July 19, 2020, Coast to Coast episode where Knapp interviewed Luis Elizondo, former point main of the Pentagon’s UFO program AATIP - Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. During the interview, Elizondo explained that “recently” he had a meeting on the Hill where he met the point man of another US UFO program which was active back in 1980s. Danny Silva subsequently covered this important segment in his article “Elizondo Met UFO Program Point Man From 1980s”. During the night of the Coast to Coast broadcast, UFO researcher UFO Philosopher (aka Adrian Rudnyk) tweeted the audio, and citizen journalist Joe Murgia live tweeted the reveal over his former Twitter account. On December 21, 2020, Joe additionally released the transcript of the entire interview with Luis Elizondo. Lue gave additional details during another interview for the Sara Carter Show from August 24, 2020. There he revealed how he was told during the meeting on the Hill that 1980s UFO program was positioned in the US Navy. Relevant segment starts from 25:23 minute mark. https://youtu.be/VpVKNI1LErs?t=1523 Here is also the relevant transcript. LUIS ELIZONDO: When you asked me the question is this the first time the US government in recent history took this topic seriously? The answer is a definitive Yes. But, I'll also share with you, Sarah, that not too long ago-- for a while when I was part of AATIP, I really thought this was it. We were kind of the first, if you will, and premier program like this in the US government. But, it wasn't until afterwards that-- and I have to be careful about providing the circumstances. But, I met an individual and I met this individual in official US government spaces. And this individual was sponsored by some very, very senior people. And they asked me to come in and give them, if you will, a back briefing of the AATIP program. And these again, these are senior government officials. So I gave them a briefing. And I noticed there was a gentleman sitting in the back corner, older gentlemen. Didn't say anything, didn't introduce himself, was just listening to me. And because I was invited to speak with them, obviously, I'm not going to ask them who this individual is. It's really frankly, none of my business. When I was finished with this, this briefing, the individual stood up. He walked over to me, he shook my hand. He said: 'I just wanted to let you know, Lue, I used to have your program.' Now, I didn't know what he meant by that. Because obviously, I've had a lot of programs in my time in my career. And I said: 'So which one are you referring to?' And he looked at me and he said: 'The program you're briefing on right now. I used to run the same program back in the Navy, in the 1980s.' SARA CARTER: Hah?! LUIS ELIZONDO: So, that-- Exactly, right. That to me, that was kind of a, frankly, a stunning moment. Because up to that point, truthfully, truthfully, I didn't know that there was ever truly another program after Blue Book. SARA CARTER: Because Blue Book was supposed to be the end of it. Just for every one of you out there who doesn't know about Project Blue Book, I mean, Blue Book really was like-- We're closing the books, the United States government on, you know, aerial phenomena. We don't have any evidence of it. It was like when the Air Force tried to throw everybody off, for those people, especially that believe and that have said there's so much evidence out there that there is unidentified flying objects or aerial phenomena that is not from this earth or appears not to be from this earth or something that the United States government can identify. Am I right Lue that this was Project Blue Book?-- They were out there to investigate it and basically after Project Blue Book, they threw away the key. That's what we were told. LUIS ELIZONDO: You're 100% correct.
