Back in April 2020, Japanese Defense Minister Tarō Kōno announced the possibility of Japanese UFO guidelines (based on the US example and media interest due to released Navy UFO Videos). Here is the archived material in question.
I just located another item on the official web pages of Japanese Ministry of Defense. During the September 8, 2020 press conference, Kōno was asked if there are any updates on the issue. Although Google translate is a little bit clumsy, it seems he confirmed that topic was discussed during the August 29, 2020 meeting with US Defense Secretary Dr. Mark T. Esper in Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Screenshot below is extracted from the Japanese Ministry of Defense web pages.
FIRE EXCHANGE IN AFGHANISTAN DeLonge discusses how 'Mad Dog' Mattis saved Lue's Life
On January 15, 2018, I had a honor to interview Luis Elizondo – former point main of the Pentagon’s UFO program AATIP - Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. It was the first extended 60-min interview with Lue that I did back then for the Croatian Public Television. I subsequently released uncut form of that interview on February 8, 2018, over YouTube.
Lue discussed with me the history of UFO investigations under AATIP. During the interview he also talked about General James Mattis, who served as the 26th US Secretary of Defense from January 2017 to January 2019. Lue stated the following from the 05:15 minute mark.
The Davis/Wilson notes (aka the Wilson Leak) still continue to cause high controversy across the UFO field. Researches on different podcast shows are discussing and debating the topic from a variety of different corners, theories and interpretations. During a recent review of the affair, I noticed the new lead and invested some resources to follow it. However, that lead turned out to be just an ordinary dead end. I still produced some research material while working on it, and I thought it would be useful to share it. So, this unbiased piece should serve just as a historical record of the affair. I collected recollections from 3 colleagues how their telephone discussions went with retired Vice Admiral Thomas R. Wilson. I think it will be fascinating – or at least interesting – to get an insight into these engagements.
538 Science Writer on the UAP Task Force: “I think it’s important…” Thanks toCandice Powersfor this lead.
Host John Dankosky interviewed Maggie Koerth on July 31, 2020 for the syndicated radio show Science Friday. The show is distributed by the WNYC Studios, and airs over NPR too. Maggie is a senior science writer for the website FiveThirtyEight, which accumulates and analyzes polling and political data. Writers at FiveThirtyEight also cover sports, science, economics and popular culture. On the show Maggie presented a weekly breakdown of prominent science news. At one point Dankosky asked her about the recent New York Times article which covered the UAP Task Force. Maggie analyzed latest developments emphasizing it is important, valuable and useful to have such an office.
John Podesta on UFOs: "I worked a lot with Senator Reid on that question.” Thanks to Grant Cameron, Nikole Sakach and “Evan” for this lead.
On July 8, 2020, hosts of The Climate Pod – brothers Brock Benefiel and Ty Benefiel - released an interview with John Podesta. Podesta served as the former White House Chief of Staff under President Bill Clinton (1998-2001) and he is the founder of the Center for American Progress. In 2008, he served as co-chair of President Obama’s transition team, and chaired Hillary Clinton’s campaign for president in 2016. His serious interest in UFOs is well known and established. Podesta wrote a foreword to Leslie Kean’s 2010 classic “UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record”. There he proposed mutual cooperation of government, scientists and aviation experts on the UFO problem. He concludes the foreword with his famous phrase that the American people can handle the truth.
Near the end of The Climate Pod, Brock Benefiel asked Podesta on his views about “aliens”. Podesta focused his reply towards released information on the government UFO program. He also emphasized that he "worked a lot with Senator Harry Reid on the issue".
Subtle Wilson Leak References Found in Vallee’s Novel
Researcher Chris Jensen alerted me on another Wilson Leak reference. This time it was found in the novel “Stratagem” (paperback 2006 / hardcover 2007) by prominent and legendary researcher Dr. Jacques Vallee. The novel deals with two friends – Mark and Robert – who witnessed a huge UFO that lift out of the Amazon waters. Their search for answers leads them to many people 'in-the-know’ and through different twists they acquired knowledge about the black Pentagon project on UFOs.
Fictional work is always a great platform to combine reality, knowledge and imagination. Back in February 2006, researcher Laurent Legerheard Vallee’s interview on French FM station. At one point “Stratagem” was discussed and during the interview Valle stated "it is a novel" and added "there is a lot of things between the lines".
Chris Jensen pointed me to Chapter 9 and with a quick glimpse I immediately recognized obvious similarities with the premise in the Wilson leak. In that chapter Mark and Robert met with Colonel Lewis, who had experience in government accounting and auditing. Lewis also had had military experience in Somalia and Yugoslavia. During his Pentagon career, he was involved with internal audits of classified projects. Lewis explained how his office had to track down significant sums for which the “Secretary” couldn’t identify in the appropriations authority. This investigation finally found the hidden UFO cell. The Wilson Leak has the same premise. On page 90 Lewis explains how it was hard to get cooperation with representatives of the hidden project. Screenshot below.
Independent Corroboration “Admiral you don't have a need-to-know!”
Another reference indicates Edgar Mitchell knew about the Davis/Wilson meeting in Las Vegas. It was found in the September 2009 video interview by Art Levy of Florida Trend. This interview with Mitchell happened one year after Admiral Wilson gave denial to journalist Billy Cox. Despite the denial, Mitchell explained there is an “independent corroboration” which shows Admiral Wilson located the UFO SAP. If we consider additional context from the 2010 H+ interview, we can reasonably conclude that Mitchell is talking here about the Davis/Wilson meeting.
Encounter in Las Vegas Another Confirmation of the Wilson Leak Found
From the middle of June 2020, I was processing/listening/reading a variety of published and audio interviews with Dr. Edgar Mitchell that go back to 1990s and 2000s. Some of those are not online anymore, but were preserved in my archives. So far I processed about 10 hours of audio interviews. My goal: to potentially locate any remark by Mitchell (no matter how vague) that could point towards alleged Davis/Wilson meeting. And I just found what I was aiming for. Just located important reference that gives additional strong indication that The Wilson Leak indeed came from the Mitchell files. Based on this 2010 interview we can conclude that Dr. Mitchell was aware of the Davis/Wilson meeting at least 9 years before the public Imgur and Reddit leak, and probably earlier. Screenshot from the 2010 interview with Dr. Mitchell is below.
Edgar Mitchell's Emails Edgar Mitchell Weighs in on the Admiral Wilson’s 2008 Denial: “Sounds like he has joined the other side.”
Discussions about “The Wilson/Davis Leak” are again very popular across the social media groups dealing with UFOs. 15-page document revolves around the 2002 meeting notes in Las Vegas between Dr. Eric W. Davis and Thomas R. Wilson. Notes were allegedly written by Dr. Davis after the fact. Discussed topic: Pentagon briefing from April 1997 where Rear Admiral Thomas Ray Wilson (at that time the Vice Director of Intelligence for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, later promoted to Vice Admiral and Director of DIA), met with Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell, Commander Willard Miller (ret.) and activist Steven Greer. As claimed, Admiral Wilson was briefed by them about hidden UFO programs. After the briefing, he allegedly located UFO SAP (Special Access Program), but the contractor and higher Pentagon authorities denied him full access that he believed his position warranted. The document leaked back in April 2019 over image sharing platform Imgur and was linked via two Reddit communities. Besides Davis’ notes, it also contains attached letter from CDR Will Miller. Latest debates about the document’s authenticity were ignited thanks to June 15, 2020 article by Billy Cox and Joe Murgia’s investigative series about the affair. For a deeper insight into involved parties and events, readers are encouraged to read Joe’s series before this companion piece.
